Hello all,
Today was a big day for me as I received a Thai massage... it was also my first professional message ever. The massages have been a huge talking point for both the former teachers and students that have experienced this trip and I am glad to check it off my to do list (see image below).
Another huge aspect of the culture we have been experiencing is the food. Funny story actually, today Justin R. and myself went to a Korean restaurant called Saboten and ordered both a loin and chicken katsu curry set in hopes of trying something new. The entrees were unlike anything we had seen before as every ingredient to the meal was presented in its own dish and it was assumed that we know how to mix and match the foods, spices, and dressings accordingly. We obviously had no clue what we were doing but we gave it our best shot anyway, turns out we were wrong. On two different occasions our waitress walked over without being asked, while laughing, to show us how to eat our meal...she definitely saw us struggling BIG TIME. The best part was that she could not speak a lick of english so she kept having to demonstrate for us. Anyways, we still aren't entirely sure if we were doing it right but it was definitely a dining experience that will always stick out. One of the pictures displays a "mortar and pestle" in which we used to "compound" one of our dressings.
All the best,
Travis Frost
