Hello everyone,
It is with deep sadness that today was the day that Jono (our preceptor) left our presence. He was such a great influence for our group as a whole whether it be his intellectual talks on disease states, advice about the future including financial options and just overall being the best friend that we all needed on this trip. He was the glue that held all of us together, however we know it is not the end.
On a lighter note, some of us went and visited the elephants today which was amazing. We got to feed them bananas, play with them, swim with them among other things. We also learned some cool facts about them such as how they for their diarrhea issues the bigger elephants get 4-5 liters of moonshine once a month to help regulate their digestive systems. They are gentle giants and I never once felt threatened or scared of being with them. It truly was a mixed emotions type of day.
TTYL,
