Today we arrived in Chiang Mai and I love it already! It doesn't seem overcrowded, our hotel is in a perfect area with plenty of food and markets near by, and it doesn't have funky smells around every corner. Once we arrived at our hotel, we had some time to do our own thing before meeting up for dinner. It took us only a couple of minutes to walk from our hotel to a outside restaurant near by. I ordered chicken khao soi, a Thai noodle dish (sorry, I was too hungry and forgot to take a picture). Right next to where we ate dinner was a night market. The markets are pop up stands where locals sell pretty much anything you can think of: clothes, jewelry, food, artwork and much more. We of course did all kinds of shopping. Then we attended my first cabaret show! If you are unfamiliar with this type of show, I can give you a short overview, but I suggest you check one out yourself. Cabaret is a form of theatrical entertainment featuring music, song, dance, recitation, or drama. It is a big show in Thailand, where "lady-boys" dance and lip sync to popular songs. The performers put on a great show, it was such a fun time and very entertaining! I think that's about all I can say about it. I'll leave you with one of the only pictures I took from the evening.

Talk to you soon! -Lindsey
