Today we visited a Dermatology Institution to learn about Leprosy and Mycetoma. We started the day with lectures by Dr. Kampirapap, who gave us an overview of both topics and pointed out differences between treatments in Thailand and the United States. We were then provided with a delicious soup for lunch (pictured below) and given the opportunity to observe Dr. Kampirapap see patients for their follow-up appointments. We saw several patients with Leprosy and one patient with Mycetoma. I loved that we were able to have such intimate interactions with each patient; Dr. Kampirapap also made extra effort to explain each patient's individual situation and challenge us with questions to further help us learn :)
