Hello everybody,

Today we visited Chiangmai Ram Hospital. This is a private hospital with 230 beds. It is quite modern, and people even fly in from other countries to receive cosmetic operations, dental work, and other healthcare services. Thailand has good and affordable healthcare, so sometimes it is worth it for people to travel here for healthcare services.

We also visited a psychiatric hospital in Chiang Mai as well. I didn't take any pictures because we were asked not to. This hospital was very large, and we saw how pharmacist's play a role in providing care to their patients. One big difference between the United States and Thailand is that the patient needs to give permission to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital in the United States. The exception to this is that they are deemed a danger to themselves or others by a psychiatrist. In Thailand this is not the case, and family members can admit patients.
